How do we show our team and credentials so AI engines can verify them?

Make every credential checkable. Link each badge to the issuer’s own listing, date every result and say where it came from, and describe who does the work by role and experience. An unverifiable claim is worth less to an engine than no claim.

Effort: 2 to 4 hours

Who does it: Marketing lead

Best for: B2B firms of 20 to 500 people

Evidence: Medium (Google Search Central, read 8 November 2026)

01 / WHY IT MATTERS

Why it matters.

Google’s guidance on helpful content asks whether it is “self-evident to your visitors who authored your content” and says of experience, expertise, authoritativeness and trust: “Of these aspects, trust is most important.” AI engines that search the web read the same pages, and a badge image with no link, or a result with no date, gives them nothing to confirm.

Buyers check too. A partner badge that links to the partner’s directory, or a review score that links to the review site, answers the question before they ask it.

02 / SELF-CHECK

The 10-minute self-check.

List every badge, award, rating and result on your homepage and service pages. For each one, check:

  • Does it link to the issuer’s own page, not to an image?
  • Does it carry a date?
  • Does it say where the number came from (analytics, CRM, review site)?
  • Is it the same figure on every page and profile?
03 / STEPS

Steps.

  1. Remove any credential you cannot link to or evidence. Keep the ones you can prove.
  2. Link each badge to the issuer’s listing of your company.
  3. Add a date and a source to every result: “Organic key events 13 to 234, May to November 2024 against the prior period, GA4”.
  4. Describe the team by role, experience and what each role does on a project.
  5. Check that every figure matches across site pages, case studies and directories.

Checkable proof near the enquiry form is a standard test in our conversion rate optimisation audits.

05 / MEASURE

How to measure it.

  • Verifiable share: credentials with an issuer link and a date, divided by all credentials. Target 100%.
  • Engine read-back: ask each engine what your credentials are. Monthly.
  • Figure consistency: count of mismatched figures across site and profiles. Quarterly.
07 / SOURCES

Sources.

  • Google Search Central, Creating helpful, reliable, people-first content, read 8 November 2026.
  • Prolinkage AI self-test (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overview, one run each), 6 November 2026.
  • Prolinkage claims registry FT-04 (FullTilt, GSC generative AI features impressions), captured 4 September 2026.
  • Prolinkage claims registry CL-02 (Clutch verified review, 5.0), review published 3 July 2024.

What the engines say across repeated runs, which sources they read and who they name instead is harder to see from inside. Our free AI Visibility Snapshot runs a sample of your buyers’ questions and is reviewed by a person.
